Every year, Myria, the Belgian Federal Migration Centre, provides a report in the form of an independent evaluation of the policy on the fight against human trafficking and smuggling.

Myria chose to focus on the theme of exploitation of begging, an unknown form of human trafficking. Exploited beggars are first and foremost potential victims of human trafficking and should certainly not be viewed as public nuisances to combat.
