Fundamental rights or human rights are rights or freedoms held by individual citizens vis-à-vis the state and each other. They are subsumed under human dignity which is equally granted to everyone. The terms fundamental rights and human rights are often used interchangeably. The difference? Fundamental rights are guaranteed by the Constitution, human rights by international treaties.
